When it comes to HR, cutting corners will leave your business susceptible to incompliance and a host of other HR issues. You might think, due to financial constraints, that you have few options. But outsourcing HR to qualified experts is a cost-effective alternative to having a dedicated HR department.

We’ve put together this handy guide to give you an insight on Peninsula’s beginnings, and how we’ve come to be a leader in providing expert HR advice.

Our story: Peninsula HR

In 1983, Peter Done and his brother, Fred, were embroiled in an employment tribunal at The Done Brothers bookmakers. The young entrepreneurs felt that they had received poor advice. To make matters worse, the pair were told to settle and pay a £9,000 bill.

The Done brothers felt that there must be a better way to protect businesses. This was the catalyst for Peninsula, and it transpired this new business would be the ‘better way’.

Four decades of delivering expert HR advice

For over 40 years, businesses of all sizes have been depending on Peninsula to provide advice and support for their HR issues.

Our experience means that we understand SMEs might not be in a financial position to justify a fulltime HR professional.

Which is why more organisations are exploring HR outsourcing. If you’re a business considering partnering with a HR consultant, choose a provider with a wealth of experience.

It's that in-depth experience that enables Peninsula to curate a range of expert HR services thousands of companies benefit from. Here’s an overview of our offerings:

24-hour HR advice

As a business owner, finding the time during your working day to seek support could be difficult. With Peninsula HR, you get access to 24/7 advice, so if you’ve a question or a worry, our HR advisors are always available to assist.

Receive expertise you can trust. The advice you’ll receive is insured and delivered by certified and chartered HR consultants.

HR issues can crop at given time and present companies with considerable concerns. To date, we’ve given expert HR advice to over 35,000 UK businesses—and with changes to the Employment Rights Bill, we expect that number to climb.

HR contracts & documentation

Every one of your staff members should have an employment contract. As part of Peninsula’s expert HR services, our team draft all of your HR contracts and employment documentation.

Whether it’s your grievance procedure or disciplinary frameworks, we ensure your workplace policies keep you protected. We’ll support crafting employee handbooks and assist with letters and forms for exit interviews and performance reviews.

If ever you need to refresh your HR policies or send a formal letter, Peninsula’s HR experts ensure your documentation is legally compliant.

HR software

BrightHR software has been designed to provide businesses with a suite of tools to streamline admin and HR processes. It includes:

Workplace mediation

Disputes in the workplace can be damaging for your company’s culture and morale—and you might not have the experience or time to resolve the matter.

Should that be the case, invite Peninsula to mediate on your behalf. Just provide us with the details, and we’ll come to you.

Your HR expert, an accredited workplace mediator (regulated by The Society of Mediators), will seek to find a positive resolution.

They’ll create the paperwork to support the outcome and set out a process for all parties to adhere. Following that, they’ll keep in contact to ensure everything’s on track.

Employment tribunal support

Employment tribunals are time-consuming and costly to your company, but Peninsula exists to safeguard you and ease your stresses. Clients receive the following:
